RE/MAX Properties Plus is engaged in REO and other distressed properties in northern New Jersey. We have a complete understanding of the REO process. This process Involves performing the Initial occu- pancy inspection, BPOs, regular asset inspections, working with sub- contractors (e.g. locksmith, electrician, landscapers), and the marketing necessary to return the REO from a non-working asset to a sold proper- ty for our client Investors.
RE/MAX Properties Plus has a full time REO Department with a managing Broker (James [Jim] Brooks), who assist in all phases of the REO's term. All BPOs are performed by a member of the staff and are quality controlled to ensure accuracy. Over the past two years, REOS handled by the team have gone from listed to "under contract" In less than three weeks. Since Jim Brooks Is the main contact for all of the REO business, the asset manager will always deal with the agent who personally manages the assets.
In a real estate career that spans more than 35 years, Jim Brooks has worked as a realtor (formerly in Illinois and in New Jersey since 2008), a home builder, a bank vice president for residential lending and a closing agent for new home loans. Over the past 10 years, The Jim Brooks Group has represented many buyers and sellers in distress sales which Includes REOS and short sales. With the "Black Book" of ready & willing buyers, a property does not last long as an open listing and the asset manager can rest assured that these nonworking assets will be moved to the working column quickly.
